Moving Your Domain to Yohost
We've made moving your domain as easy as 1-2-3 (and 4-5!). Follow these simple steps to bring your brand home.
Unlock Your Domain
Think of your domain like a locked door. You need to unlock it before you can move it to a new house. Go to your current provider's website and look for a button that says 'Unlock Domain'.
It's usually found in the 'Domain Settings' or 'Security' tab.
Get Your Magic Code (EPP)
Every domain has a secret code (like a password). Ask your current provider for your 'EPP Code' or 'Transfer Authorization Code'. They might email it to you or show it on the screen.
Keep this code secret! Note: South African domains (like .co.za) do not need an EPP code.
Check Your Email Address
Make sure the email address listed on your domain is one you can actually check. We will send you an important email to confirm you really want to move.
If the email is old, update it first before starting the transfer.
Tell Yohost to Start
Come back to our website! Go to our 'Transfer' page, type in your domain name, and paste that secret 'Magic Code' you got in Step 2.
Our system will check if everything is ready to go.
The Final Handshake
Your old provider will send you one last email asking 'Are you sure?'. Just click 'Yes' or 'Approve'. In a few days, your domain will be safely at home with Yohost!
